Weird and Wonderful Statues

So I spent a week in Melbourne with a couple of friends near the end of my stay in Australia. Melbourne is a cool cool place! One of the things I loved about the place were the statues. Like this one above; three guys standing in a line, waiting for the tram. They're totally out of proportion, pretty flat and I actually walked into one and appologized because I thought he was real :P

This big purse was pretty cool too. It was around 7 or 8 ft wide and 6 ft from top to bottom. Can't remember what street it was on but there are literally tons of cool statues aroud the city! Oh and check out this site for cool statues too. This site made me want to take photos of all the cool ones in Ireland, so maybe I'll do that during the summer, who knows? I'll at least take photos of the few in Limerick :)

This last one looks like the corner of a submerged chuck of the Victoria State Library in Melborne. That's the library in the background and had a great display on mapping the History of Literature in Australia, and had some really cool pieces like a first publication of Alice in Wonderland and a teeny tiny bible that was printed like 200 years ago and was only about an inch tall. It's definately the coolest library I've ever been to, although that's not saying much :P
